The firm has siginficant experience working on large scale development projects.  Jamie represented the City of Inglewood in its $2.0 billion planned redevelopment of Hollywood Park, and worked with both the City and developers to move the project forward.  Ms. Sparks currently serves as counsel to the City of La Puente’s Planning Commission and routinely works on matters related to land use and zoning.

Casso & Sparks assists clients in drafting conditions of approval for complex development projects, and regularly advises on issues related to conditional use permits, sign programs, development permits, adult uses, and the Subdivision Map Act. Bianca has also assisted clients in updating their zoning codes, and with general plan amendments.

The firm has extensive experience with CEQA compliance, and has served as lead counsel in several published appellate cases concerning land use and environmental matters. By way of example, in 2007, Jamie successfully defended the City of Pico Rivera in a high profile CEQA matter that allowed for the continued operation of a large big box retailer and in 2008-09.  The firm also routinely advises on mitigated negative declarations and CEQA exemptions for development projects.
