Carolin specializes in complex commercial litigation, and is experienced in advising and representing corporate clients in contractual disputes, real estate litigation, product liability cases, intellectual property disputes, labor and employment disputes, class-action defense, and appellate practice.
Carolin’s representative matters include defeating class certification and obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a major dialysis provider in an employee misclassification suit, which was subsequently confirmed by the Ninth Circuit, as well as securing dismissal of a business tort action against the world's then-largest listed online gaming company, and dismissal of an intellectual property misappropriation suit brought by South Korea’s largest maker of anti-wrinkle botulinum toxin drugs.
Since joining Casso & Sparks in 2018, Carolin has represented and advised municipalities, redevelopment agencies, and other public entities in litigation, including False Claims Act claims, discrimination complaints, contractual business disputes, compliance with the California Public Records Act and the Brown Act, and enforcement of legislative subpoenas.
